Tube for Three
Connelly's Convertible can handle three riders
July 23, 2001
Say what you will about the thrills of getting big air on a wakeboard or ripping cuts on a slalom ski, you can't beat a towable tube for pure hassle — and effort-free enjoyment. True, a ride on a tow-behind tube likely won't challenge you physically — and that's exactly the point. Still, tubes have evolved over the years. What once were items rescued from auto-yard scrap heaps have become purpose-built, attractive and even steerable toys.
Case in point — The three-passenger Convertible from Connelly. The 76-by-76-inch inflatable water toy can hold three adult riders. It is covered top and bottom with heavy-duty denier nylon.
The Convertible features six padded handles, which should come in handy for hanging on during the ride, as well as reboarding should riders take an unexpected (or well-planned) swim. A neoprene scuff pad is positioned at the base of each handle for additional brawn and support.
A quick connect/disconnect system comes standard. When not pressed into tow service, the Convertible can also be used as a giant floating sun pad or dock.
